I am currently chasing my dream and achieving my goals on my path to medicine. Working on my master’s in Neuroscience at the Georgia State University. After which I will pursue my MD or nursing degree. I cannot complain about the position I have worked to achieve thus far.
I vividly remember my journey in the STEAMsport program where I found an outsource to let my creative juices flourish. Starting in FLL and Beginner Level Computer Programming, I started to gain skills and experiences that I just could not get at school. In these modern times, everything is run on computers or AI, and learning it from a young age definitely put me in a better position. My connections and skills gained led me to join different organizations that allowed me to travel to multiple cities and acquire awards/scholarships.
This is the step forward you need to take, just go and do it!
During my tenure community service and development was a monumental life acquired skill. Understanding the potential of people no matter their socioeconomic background can really motivate people to pursue their dreams and know that anything is possible.

Before STEAMsport I was very reserved and not very expressive of my creativity and ambitions. Even though there is nothing wrong with being reserved but in this world, you must show your best attributes and make something of yourself.
Winning Third place in FLL and going onto the State competition in only the 8th grade and it was my first year in the program. This accomplishment fueled my passion for the rest of the program leading to numerous other experiences
This is the step forward you need to take, just go and do it!
Do not allow the worldview to stop you from chasing your passion and dreams in STEAM no matter your socioeconomic status or the pigmentation of your skin.
